Dr. Sanduk Ruit of the Himalayan Cataract Project performs extracapsular cataract eye surgery with IOL placement at the Tilganga Eye Centre, Nepal. Dr. Ruit invented this sutureless extra-capular cataract extraction technique.

IOL replacement due to broken haptic

The surgeon did not keep an eye on the trailing haptic, and so implanted an IOL that had the trailing haptic broken. He had to explant it and reimplant another one.
